one year anniversary

The year went by so fast. I remember it so well - I woke up early on July 14, 2012 and heard rain and just about had a nervous breakdown but after a few minutes it just sort of didn't matter because I knew - rain or no rain - I was marrying Dan and that is all that mattered.

Our actual anniversary was yesterday so we went to a matinee of Wicked in Philly!

However, our seats left very little to be desired.

They were god-awful.

I literally could not see the stage. So I had to sit like this the entire show.

Despite our awful seats, the musical was pretty wonderful.

We then headed back to KOP, ran home to grab our duffel bags, and went and checked into the Radisson (yes, the hotel we had our reception at) - we got a complimentary suite for the night (hence why Max went to stay with my parents).

We got to stay in the same fantasy suite as as last year. Ours was called "Cabin in the Woods".

Dan also treated me to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and we spent some time and won a little money in the casino.

It was a nice escape from reality for a bit and a nice reminder to stay in the Radisson. The first year of marriage has been fun but we're ready for year two! Hopefully it includes buying a house and maybe adding to our family. Maybe.

fourth of july weekend (so far)

Sorry, had to.

The weekend is about half over (sob!) but so far so good. Spent time with my family, Dan's friends, my friends, and reading and just relaxing.

Max found a new resting spot - right under our bed! Then he decided it would be fun to relieve himself on our bed. Thanks, Max.

Happy birthday to Jillian! We got to spend time together eating crab fries and froyo :)

happenings

So 20 days without a blog post is normal, right? Yeesh, I just have been so bad at this. BUT my reasonings are legit. I mean, how can you blog with a computer that only works 45% of the time? YOU CAN'T. You can try but trust me, you will just get frustrated.

But life has been happening and here are some photos to prove it.

First of all we can just get a collective "AW" about this little gentleman? He is the quite frankly the only baby that has given my uterus all the sparkles to want a baby.

Dan and I also participated in the Sandy Sprint 5K for ovarian cancer this weekend in honor of our friend Matt's late mother. I ran it of course and this year they had a color run option.

Today Dan and I did some spring cleaning. Which was must needed, I must say. I cannot believe how much dust accumulated on my ceiling fan and my GOSH, comet smells disgusting. As much as I hate cleaning, a clean and bright apartment makes me happy.

it's a good day to have a good day

Life has been beautiful this weekend.

A baby shower for a cousin, knowing that she truly loved the gift I gave her (custom scrapbook), and seeing my family... if only weekends could always be like this.

Though it's Saint Patrick's Day, I only celebrated by tossing some green out of my wallet in the form of fun, polka dot jeans (they are very cute & stylish, trust me!), some spring shirts that can double for work & play (always a must!), and a couple home decor items that I've been coveting from etsy.

Oh etsy.. you do me so bad (and good).

I have some thoughts in my head on starting my own business but to be honest, I am not quite sure where to start so perhaps I will spend my summer researching & preparing some things. Life can be so exciting if you let it.


I want so badly to fill this blog with adventures & photos... and I promise I will.

But in the meantime, I will leave you with this:

has spring sprung?

I think I can *officially* say spring has sprung! And how could it not with this beautiful weather (despite that freak snow storm Friday!) and the fact that we turned the clocks back! I think losing an hour of sleep is well worth it to get some extra sunshine after work.

The spring bug hit me a little hard this weekend.

I felt the NEED to buy new nail polish and some bright pretty jewelery and these amazing light pink pants. Oh, target how you get me everytime.

And the sudden rush of 50 to 60 degree weather gave me some new housewife motivation to clean our little apartment. Dan helped (or rather, did the things he knows makes me gag. Like cleaning up food or the yucky bugs that get stuck in the windowsill) and I just HAD to add more springtime decor.

Yup. The spring bug has bit me.

This weekend was a great reminder of what wonderful ladies I am surrounded by. We went bridesmaid dress shopping and out to lunch with the bride to be Laura and it was a lovely time. Plus cocktails with the crazy bride later that night was just the cherry on the top of a fabulous weekend.

friday friday gotta get down on friday

It is snowing - even though the weatherman said it would snow WEDNESDAY.

I know what I have to do this morning at work already and I am not looking forward to it.

It is a Friday during Lent, and of course that is when I crave chicken or a big juicy cheeseburger the most.

I haven't been sleeping well so my body is craving a super long nap or a morning where I sleep until noon but since I have work and tomorrow I want to run before my day starts, I get to wake up before 7 and hang out with my bed head for a while.

But it's Friday... and I have some nice things planned over the next couple days so I can deal.

Tonight, I am forcing Dan to take me to the grilled cheese restaurant (yes, we have a GRILLED CHEESE RESTAURANT. We also have a pb&j one but thats for another day. and to find someone to go with me who doesn't gag at the sight and smell of peanut butter like my lovely husband does). We are also going to get a cupcake because... cupcakes.

So Friday.. you may not be ideal but you will include cupcakes and the thought of a free 48 hours once the clock hits five.

brigantine

A few days late... but this weekend Dan & I went to Brigantine, NJ for some sun and fun.. or rather, cold and windy fun. It was mostly just us playing with the dogs and freezing our butts off but good nonetheless.

snowstorm! or not

So this hyped up snowstorm was basically a dud. Yes it snowed and yes the roads got a little wet but we really did not get that much. Once we got out of our apartment complex this morning, the roads were perfectly fine.

But I did manage to grab some photos late last night so we did experience a little bit of Nemo.

It's Saturday. Dan & I ran in a 5K together this morning (I'll post about that next!) and he is off to wrestling for the day/night and I plan on doing absolutely nothing except snuggling with my dog and only getting up to change the movie in the dvd player.
